Brain Death: Some Ethical Issues

The Guild met October 29th 2020, at St Francis of Assisi Church, Gates Mills. Mass was celebrated by Fr. Steve Flynn. Then Andrew Trew presented some recent cases and emerging ethical controversies ,for a discussion about Brain Death. The Harvard Brain Death Test is well regarded. It is long established as a means of justifying removal of life support, in apparently futile cases that result from catastrophic brain injury.
